Halloween time, Retta Hallowell thought to her self as she surveyed the excitement around her. The young kids were out trick-or-treating. Even most of the older teens. But Retta did not want to go trick-or-treating. Even most of the older teens. But Reta did not want to go trick-or-treating. Heck! She did not even like candy! No, Retta wanted to go to her most favorite place. The old Hanson house. A bubble of excitement passed through her as she even THOUGHT about it.
The Hanson house had been on the edge of town for as long as anyone who lived there could remember. So the stories had been passed down along for centuries! It was said that the old man who lived there (Mr. Hanson) had gone crazy after his wife left, the night before Halloween. On Trick-or-Treat night, when the candy wanting kids came to the door, he murdered every one. Now its said you can still hear there screams, and the crazy joy-like calls from Mr. Hanson
