What percent of a money that boxer makes goes to his promoter and trainer?
Lets say that boxer made 1 million for a fight, how much money he is left after he pay to his promoter and trainer?

Boxers on average only keep 35 to 40 percent of their own money. Keep in mind they pay taxes on that too. So out of one million after paying everyone they only take home 350,000 to 400,000.
John S | Oct 12, 2009

The manager gets 1/3 of the gross. Then taxes. Many promoters get theirs out of the total gate, then PV gate. Fighter’s sign for a specific amount or in years past a percentage of the total gate. Training expenses sometimes is provided, which includes lodging, meals, transportation, sparring partners. The taxes and the 1/3 to the manager, then usually a fixed price to the trainer and hired cut man. Here’s an example. When Ali and Frazier each signed for 2.5 million, which was unheard of in 1971. they fought in NYC.NY hasa federal tax,a state tax and a city tax. After all expenses, they probably earned 250,000.Fun huh ?

Getting Over My Girlfriend's Past Lovers?
I’ve been seeing my girlfriend for the past 10 months and things started out perfectly. We met through eharmony, and we seemed to be very compatible. I find her beautiful, and love her personality. The only problem I have now is her past boyfriends. She’s 31 years old, and I’m 34 years old. What bothers me is that when she was 25, she was with a 55 year old man of another race. I get very jealous. She said he was funny, and was in good shape for his age. I get jealous that a 55 year old man was sleeping with her during her prime years. For a 25 year old to be with a 55 year old, it’s most likely to be about money. She told me when she was 18 to 23, she was living in Switzerland, and had a lot of fun. When she moved to Washington D.C., she said it was boring, and this 55 year old was able to take her around and travel, first class! She said she didn’t see him often, maybe twice a month and they had sex about 20 times in a year to year and a half. For a girl to give her body just to travel makes me wonder about her integrity with sex. I wonder maybe she was a slut in europe since she’s willing to cheapen her body for a sugardaddy. She said she’s been with only one guy in europe, and the she didn’t enjoy sex back then. That he was too rough and it was painful. I’ll also be honest that the fact that both these guys are from a different race also bothers me considering I was teased by that race when I was younger. To have her give her virginity, and her body to a 55 year old afterward really kills me, and i’m here left with the left overs. She’s 31 and is eager to get married, but I wonder if she’s settling for me. She claims that i’m the best lover, but I wonder if she’s only saying that to make me feel better. Sexually speaking, i’ve been with 6 other partners and she’s the best fit i’ve ever been with. I asked about the size of the 55 year old, and he was a inch bigger, and a little thicker which took things over the edge for me. Now after having a great relationship for 8 months, these past two months has been hell. Almost on a daily basis I think of breaking up with her but I don’t want to have any regrets. She’s a great person, but her past has put a distance between us. I’m very insecure because of my personal past as well. I don’t know if I should break up with her, and not find anyone as good as her or how I can get over this. I hear that her past will always be there, so I don’t know how I can spend the rest of my life with her. She doesnt’ have a greencard, and is here illegally now. I also wonder if she’s using me for a greencard. I think she really loves me, but i’m starting to have my doubts now. Things are getting complicated and confusing.
I have doubts if she really loves me. I think she was eager in the beginning, but saw my doubts so things aren’t so strong. When I do look into her eyes, I see her pupils dilate, so that makes me believe she really loves me. Sometimes she gets irritated and moody by me so I wonder if she really loves me, but I guess she can’t always be happy. Once I remember trying to hug her on the streets and she wasn’t open, but a few seconds later she gave me a big hug. I wondered if that was fake. I met her parents, and her mom treats me very well. She said she treats me like a son in law, and cooks for me every day.
My bosses friend told me to stay away, that for a girl to be with a 55 yr old who traveled, he must have been a heavy hitter. That my gf must be sophisticated and determined. He saw my jealousy as well, and advised that I look for a good old fashion traditional girl which I think is very hard to find at my age. Please advise.

WOW – you are ready to get rid of a girl because of her past partners? YOU are the one with insecurity issues. Ya go find a "Traditional" girl but in this day and age it’s gonna be mighty hard to come by. Maybe you should just see a therapist to get over your jealousy issues.

And do NOT say that you haven’t done something in your past that you may not be proud of. Past is the freakin past, she was honest with you and you should be grateful

Cinderella Man

Cinderella Man
Cinderella Man (2005)

IMDB rating: 8.00

Plot: During the Great Depression, a common-man hero, James J. Braddock—a.k.a. the Cinderella Man—was to become one of the most surprising sports legends in history. By the early 1930s, the impoverished ex-prizefighter was seemingly as broken-down, beaten-up and out-of-luck as much of the rest of the American populace who had hit rock bottom. His career appeared to be finished, he was unable to pay the bills, the only thing that mattered to him—his family—was in danger, and he was even forced to go on Public Relief. But deep inside, Jim Braddock never relinquished his determination. Driven by love, honor and an incredible dose of grit, he willed an impossible dream to come true. In a last-chance bid to help his family, Braddock returned to the ring. No one thought he had a shot. However Braddock, fueled by something beyond mere competition, kept winning. Suddenly, the ordinary working man became the mythic athlete. Carrying the hopes and dreams of the disenfranchised on his shoulders, Braddock rocketed through the ranks, until this underdog chose to do the unthinkable: take on the heavyweight champ of the world, the unstoppable Max Baer, renowned for having killed two men in the ring.

What's your favorite Russell Crowe movie?
Russell’s my favorite actor in the world, and my personal favorite is "3:10 To Yuma", although I have to say I think his best performance so far has been in "Cinderella Man".

Although Gladiator was amazing, LA Confidential is the only movie I’ve ever gone to a theater to see 3 times. It is the movie that told me this guy as going to be a star. So LA Confidential.

Why are Rooster fights illegal, but not bullfights?
One of my contacts inspired this question for me. Anyway, with both animals, you get them raged up, and you have them fight/kill each other and do a bunch of crazy things, many roosters and bulls are treated basically like crap. I’m not like a PETA member or anything, but this is still wrong.

So what up with this?

VIVA LA RAZA!

Bullfighting is not legal in the us, It is mostly taken place in spain and other hispanic countries. I am not sure about Rooster fighting though in spain, but neither are legal here.

Check between the A/C condenser and the radiator. Some trash may have blown in there and not letting air flow. If that’s not it, you may need to do a compression test or get the radiator rotted out. One more thing it could be, depending on the miles, the fins may be worn off the water pump.

How can I increase my vertical jump in four weeks?
I will be trying out for the volleyball team this fall but I am only 5′2 so I want to increase my vertical jump. I want to be a setter but being able to block would be a bonus. I know I won’t make a huge difference in such a short amount of time but a few inches would be nice.

Also I heard jumping rope helps, is this true? And can I just jump rope normally?

yea but box training is best.

"Begin every workout by warming up your muscles and then doing extensive leg stretches. Because you’ll be building muscle fibers that are used for explosive activities such as jumping, stretching is of the utmost importance.

2. Jump rope for its excellent cardiovascular conditioning. This step should never be skipped, as it will be an important contributor to your results.

3. Incorporate sprints into your workouts. This builds muscle, which will add to your jumping ability.

4. Run stairs on your toes. Start by running up a flight, one step at a time. Walk down and run back up, taking two steps at a time. Repeat as many times as you can manage.

5. Do sets of elevated jumps (see the next section).

6. Do sets of explosive jumps (see the third section).

7. Do sets of double jumps (see the third section).

8. Rest your legs at least two days a week. Results will come from sustaining the exercise program, not performing it aggressively for a few weeks and then slacking off.

Elevated Jumps
1. Begin by placing a step bench or platform on the ground (many health clubs have a platform for just this purpose).

2. Stand on the platform, then jump backward onto the ground, concentrating on landing softly.

3. Jump back onto the platform immediately, with a bouncing motion.

4. Complete three sets of 10 repetitions. Be very careful when performing this exercise, as there is a potential for injury. Ask a trainer or spotter to help.

Explosive Leg Jumps and Double Jumps
1. Position yourself for an explosive leg jump by facing a secure platform and placing your right foot on it.

2. Jump as high as you can, concentrating on exploding off the right leg. Scissor your legs once in the air, then land with your left foot on the platform and your right foot on the floor. Gather yourself and explode upward again, this time off the left foot.

3. Do three sets of 10 repetitions, resting for about 30 seconds to 1 minute between sets.

4. Execute a double jump by jumping as high as possible with both feet from a stationary position.

5. Jump again immediately upon landing, using less effort.

6. Repeat until you’ve accomplished three sets of 10 jumps each.

Hi

If you really want to increase your vertical jump in just 4 weeks the best way is to get good vertical jump program.

There are many programs online that can help you to learn how to jump higher but you should know that the problem with most vertical jump programs (besides outrageous claims) is that they are not progressive and comprehensive. They only focus on training one area of your body to improve vertical jump.
When you choose your vertical jump program it’s very important to choose one that really targets every facet of vertical explosion.

Check this helpful website about the best vertical jump programs.
You will find there reviews and comparison between the different programs. Here is the address:

Hope it helps…
Good luck

who hates MLB Free Agency?
It’s like come on already why does it take this long to sign players.

And next question, Im a Yankee fan but I just don’t like the way they treat their players n free agency. Hideki Matsui is the perfect Yankee besides Jeter, you can say he is Mr. International Yankee. And if the Yanks doesn’t sign him hope the Red Sox get him and he plays the best baseball he ever played.

I don’t. I think it is a good thing. But i agree with the second part. I’m a Yankee fan too and i can’t believe how they are treating their free agents. They should never do that to Matsui. He is a great player.

Kave Dast | Dec 03, 2009

Matsui is a good guy, and he had a helluva World Series, but I think he’s gone. I’d rather see them resign Johnny Damon. He could be d.h. and fill in playing the outfield.

Players get old. Teams move on. Sometimes it’s graceful. Sometimes it’s not. It’s just the way it is.
18 gibbs 20 | Dec 03, 2009

Yeah, I’d rather they keep Matsui and let go of Damon. I mean Matsui did so much, forget the world series, he hits home runs when they are the most needed like that tying two-run home run against the Blue Jays. They can not let Matsui go. But free agency is not a bad thing in my opinion.

Remember what happened with Bernie Williams? Now THAT was a shame.

I love that is how New York gets all their talent.

p.s. That is business big boy, it is a one and done kind of deal.
Yankee15 | Dec 03, 2009

Yeah, free agency in baseball is really lame, especially because only 5 teams have a reasonable chance of landing the best player available any given year, and we all know who they are. It’s also maddening that the players take so long to sign with teams. I understand that it is a business, but why wouldn’t teams aggressively pursue a good player that they could afford who would make a huge difference for their club? Okay, granted, they don’t want to give up draft picks, but most of the best players in the game today weren’t drafted in the first round anyway. Why not take a chance on somebody if you have the means to do it?
